I’m pretty good about keeping my self discipline in check when it comes to the decision I made to stay clear of foods that are obtained using animals in one way or another. However, I am also willing to be transparent when it comes to my job. Just like any other living and breathing human, I struggle with cravings and self control.

There is one food that I can snub ONLY if my will power is in full swing. If it decides to have an off day, then I am in trouble. I always tell people that it’s written all over my face when I eat the one food that I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t resist at times. I almost mean that literally. When I eat it, my face breaks out with almost cystic like acne. I’m not exaggerating. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Lucky for you guys, I was willing to sacrifice myself and go through some trial and error experiments to find healthy variations of this wonderful food. After all, pizza is a food that so many of us can’t seem to turn away from. Not only that, but I also have something to offer you all!

  • Order NO cheese or “light” cheese
  • Double up on the vegetables
  • Keep the sauce red or ask for drizzled olive oil instead
  • Skip alfredo or heavy white base sauces
  • Avoid sauteed vegetables
  • Don’t stuff the crust
  • Skip the meats
  • Choose thin crust
  • Ask for no butter or cheese on your crust
  • No garlic butter dipping sauce
  • No ranch ( Yes, people really do that!)
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes for extra flavor
  • Choose a “by the slice” option, if available. If not, opt for a small or personal pan size
  • Don’t add on the brownie or soft drink offered before you complete your order
