Having a workout partner
When trying to lose weight most people focus on either working out OR healthy eating habits. But to lose weight and achieve a healthier lifestyle, BOTH of those things are required to get you where you really want to be, not just one. That’s the problem I face with many of my clients and also just people in my everyday life that seek advice from their “Personal Trainer friend”. These clients and friends don’t understand that there is a method to the madness. Think of it this way, you can’t have a book without having an author and some written words. The same applies when you look at weight loss; you can’t have a healthy, good looking figure that you are proud of without good nutrition AND good fitness habits.
To keep you on the path towards guaranteed success, I’m going to break down the 3 steps I listed in my LIVE video yesterday:
It sounds crazy, but food journaling is a great accountability partner when it comes to losing weight. Continuously writing down what goes in your mouth throughout the day forces you to see your food choices each time you go back to your journal. Knowing you have to actually document it also convicts you not to eat as much or as poorly! Food journaling also helps you understand how much money you spend on things like eating out, coffee breaks, fast food, etc.
Having a Workout Partner
You guys, I can’t stress this enough. If you are new to the health and fitness lifestyle, GET YOURSELF A WORKOUT PARTNER! Having someone that will be there to support you, share your pain and struggles, share advice with, and make the fitness game fun is such a necessity. You need someone for your emotional support and to keep you encouraged and laughing through all of the good, bad, and challenging times.
Ahhhh. This word is one that most people don’t like me to use. However, I will CONSISTENTLY keep doing so, as long as there are still people struggling with weight loss. Seriously though, being consistent when it comes to proper eating habits and weekly workouts is such a big deal. Spotty workouts becomes just plain messy after a while. If you aren’t keeping a consistent workout regimen each week, you really aren’t doing yourself any good. The same goes for your eating habits. Just because you ate a healthy breakfast on Monday and a salad for dinner on Tuesday, doesn’t mean you can go have an extra-large meat lover’s pizza and a pitcher of beer at your local trivia spot on Friday night. Keep consistency in your healthy habits and you will be shocked to find out that you end up not craving those bad-for-you foods anymore!
