Since the beginning of the pandemic, Gold’s Gym has been proactively working to protect the health and safety of our Members and Team Members and adhering to state and local mandates for our company-owned gyms in Texas. As of Wednesday, March 10, most members are no longer required to wear masks*, though we strongly encourage everyone to continue to follow all recommendations from public health officials – including wearing a mask and physical distancing – to protect yourself and others while in the gym. All Gold’s Gym team members are still required to wear masks while at work for your protection and theirs. Gym occupancy has returned to 100% with the exception of select amenities which will remain closed. See below for more details and frequently asked questions.

HEALTH & SAFETY MEASURES AND GYM INFO


Q: Why is Gold’s Gym not requiring Members to wear masks? A: Since the beginning of the pandemic, Gold’s Gym has been following all state and local mandates and we will continue to do so. As of Wednesday, March 10th, masks are recommended, but no longer required by state mandate. Q: What is the occupancy of the gym? A: As of March 10th, we will be open at 100% occupancy as allowed by the state. We strongly encourage everyone to continue to follow all recommendations from public health officials – including physical distancing – to protect yourself and others while in the gym.

Our San Antonio Medical Center location will continue to follow all policies outlined by UTHSCSA as we are located on their campus, which includes limited capacity/amenities.


Q: Will the gym still be continuing the enhanced cleaning protocols? A: Gold’s Gym remains focused on your health and safety, and all enhanced cleaning and sanitization protocols will continue, including:

- Zone cleanings throughout each day in all areas of the gym including high touch surfaces, door handles, railings and common areas of the gym.

- Increased cleaning protocols in the locker rooms.

- Additional cleaning supply stations with medical-grade wipes, spray bottles and hand sanitizer across the gym.

- Daily professional third-party, after-hours cleaning including electrostatic commercial spraying/fogging for deep sanitization.


Q: What are the gym hours? A: Our gym operating will continue to be 5am – 11pm Monday – Friday and 7am – 7pm Saturday – Sunday.


Q: What are the rules/Code of Conduct related to my membership? A: Our updated Code of Conduct can be found here. All Members are required to sign the updated Code of Conduct prior to resuming workouts and guests to the gym (if applicable) will be required to sign it as well. Specifically, all Members are required to abide by the new Code of Conduct in order to maintain their membership. Failure to comply could result in revocation of membership privileges.



AMENITIES AND SERVICES


Q: What amenities are reopening as of March 10th? A: Our occupancy will return to 100% will allow us to reopen some of our temporarily closed amenities including:
- Basketball courts
- Racquetball courts
- Saunas located in locker rooms (saunas located in wet areas will remain closed at this time)
- Hot tubs located in locker rooms or exterior wet areas (hot tubs located in interior wet areas will remain closed at this time)

Our San Antonio Medical Center location will continue to follow all policies outlined by UTHSCSA as we are located on their campus, which includes limited capacity/amenities.


Q: What amenities are not reopening as of March 10th? A: Most pools will remain closed at this time. Our previously opened pools in San Antonio (located at Legacy Trails, Culebra, Alamo Heights, Rogers Ranch and Medical Center) will remain open. All Kid’s Clubs will remain closed at this time.


Q: Will classes still require reservations? A: Yes. Classes will be available with 100% occupancy starting the week of March 15th, but you are still required to a reserve a spot. Reservations can be made via the Gold's Gym Member App.

MEMBERSHIP AND BILLING


Q: If I do not feel comfortable working out at this time, can I freeze my membership? A: Yes. We are allowing Members to freeze their membership for up to 3 months for free. Freeze requests may be made in-person, by phone or via email. Contact information for your local gym can be found  here.


Q: Since Kids Club is not opening, will my Kids Club membership remain frozen? A: Yes, your Kids Club membership will remain frozen until the service is available for our Members.


Q: If I cancel my membership, will I be required to give a 30 day notice? A: Yes, per the terms of your membership agreement you are required to give a 30-day notice to cancel your membership. This means you will be billed one more time if you are billed monthly, and if you are billed bi-weekly you could be billed 2-3 more times after you cancel pending the billing cycle.


Q: If my membership is on freeze and I decide to cancel my membership, will I still be required to give a 30 day notice? A: Yes, your freeze will be removed and you will still be required to give a 30-day notice to cancel your membership. This means you will be billed one more time if you are billed monthly, and if you are billed bi-weekly you could be billed 2-3 more times after you cancel pending the billing cycle.


Q: How do I submit my cancellation? A: Members should provide written notice of cancellation in person, via email or by mail to their local gym general manager. All cancellations will be processed according to the terms of each member’s original membership agreement.
