– How did you become an active member of Group Fitness?
“I started off by taking Centergy because I was looking for a replacement for my yoga class. Centergy wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but the energy and environment of the class had me hooked! I’ve been taking group classes since then.”
-What is it that keeps you coming back for more?
“I love the vibe of the classes. Everyone is so supportive of others’ goals and progress, especially since you get to see a lot of familiar faces the more you participate in Group Fitness. Getting to know other members through Group Fitness helps you create a great network of supportive people who share your fitness goals. I also feel like having an instructor who gives me a safe environment to push myself to work harder than I might if I was working out alone. I’ve definitely set several “personal bests” while in Group Fitness classes.”
-What type of success have you seen since your time at Gold’s Gym?
“Joining Gold’s has honestly been a transformative experience for me in so many different ways. I’ve improved my overall strength and endurance, learned to form a healthier relationship with food and exercise and managed to lose about 50 pounds in the process! I’ve learned to look at health/fitness as a lifestyle change. There are no quick fixes and there’s no cheating – just hard work and dedication.”
-Do you have any advice for those who may be struggling with taking the leap into Group Fitness classes?
“Invite a friend and just go for it! It can definitely be uncomfortable doing something new, but I owe a lot of the success I’ve had to my experiences in Group Fitness classes. The first time I went to the gym to sign up I was so nervous that I sat in my car for 10 minutes trying to convince myself to walk in before I decided to just turn around and drive home. It’s scary doing something new, but the support found in Group Fitness classes absolutely makes it worth it. Be afraid, but do it anyway.”
-Is there an instructor or gym employee you admire? If so, who are they and why?
“Patrice is wonderful, not only is she always kind and helpful but having my progress acknowledged is so encouraging! When other people started noticing my progress it just gave me more inspiration to keep working hard. Jacob’s wild energy in r30 keeps me energized and ready to tackle another workout. Last, but not least, Kim Reed has played a big part in my progress. Not only is she an incredible instructor but she’s also a powerful motivator and always makes sure that I’m staying dedicated to my goals. Without her support I wouldn’t have made it as far as I have!”
