Watermelon is the power fruit of summer! Not only does watermelon taste flat out amazing, it is flat out amazing FOR you! You know how I’ve harped on throwing out those Gatorades, Powerades and other sugar filled sports drinks? I do this because they are the equivalent of drinking a soda. Well, the most common defense I get to that demand is normally, “But it’s filled with electrolytes and potassium. Don’t I need that stuff?”

Well, sure you do. But how about getting them from a natural food source! Watermelon juice blended with some of its rind, can contain up to 550mg of potassium. That blows away the amount in the leading sports drink! When you are working out, your muscles need some assistance and support. Watermelon can provide 520mg or more of L-Citrulline. This will have your muscles jumping for joy during your workout or run!

You may be thinking that you don’t have the time to blend up watermelon and rinds each morning before you start your day or head to the gym. Not to mention you aren’t about to be the crazy person who carries slices of watermelon into the gym. You don’t have to be stereotyped as the “crazy watermelon person”. No! In fact, if you can’t juice your own watermelons or carry around your own cut and prepared watermelon, try one of my favorites! It’s called “WTR MLN WTR”. This amazing stuff is made up of ONLY cold pressed watermelon juice, watermelon flesh, watermelon rind and a little organic lemon to help keep it fresh!

Think about it, you made the choice to start working out more, so why not take it to the next level in terms of your nutrition! Trying new things that are good for you can seem weird and different at times. But that’s no reason to shy away from them!

Speaking of trying new things, have you given our Centergy class a try yet? If you haven’t, you are REALLY missing out! You MUST try this class if you are looking to develop that lean, summertime body! Give it a try – don’t be scared!
