There are six mistakes people make when choosing a gym to join. Find out what they are in this Ultimate Guide for Joining a Gym.

Many people muster up the courage to get in the gym for the first time and they are so proud of themselves – as they should be! With a little bit of confidence rolling in their veins, they’ll go towards a piece of equipment that is familiar. Most commonly, it ends up being a treadmill, elliptical, or bike. However, the confidence quickly drains when they get on their chosen piece of cardio equipment and start pressing buttons. Confusion sets in when no lights come on the screen, no words, no noise… nothing.

Panic immediately floods their body. From head to toes, a flush of red comes over their skin. They’ll look around in angst and quickly hop off and go to the stretch mat or pretend to be on the phone. Sound familiar? If it does, please know that you aren’t alone. I want to take away as much of the anxiety you feel when it comes to gym equipment. So, read below to see some of the most confusing gym pieces and how they can be used to help you with your 2019 goals.

(By the way, 99% of the time, if you’ll just move your lower body on that piece of cardio equipment for about 10 seconds, all visuals and sounds will appear and you can take it from there!)
