SUNNY WEATHER TIME!
What does that mean exactly? Well, it means that swimsuits are coming out, shorts are on the scene, and the tank top will start making an appearance more often than not. Not to mention, all the events to get ready for during this time of year, right? Weddings, pool parties, graduations, beach trips, and other outdoor gatherings – just to name a few. And if you’re like the majority of the world’s population, you’d like to look good in all those different clothes and at all of those sunny day events. Unfortunately, most of us still have what we like to call our “winter body.”
Ah, yes. The ol’ winter body.
By (personal) definition: “The winter body is made by eating whatever junk you want, whenever you want, as many times as you want, and with little to no physical activity for about 6-7 months. All the while thinking that at the end of that 6-7 months, you will just kick it in high gear for like 3 weeks and lose all the weight you gained.
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong and just plain wrong. Crash diets, do just that. They cause you to CRASH and BURN.
“You mean, I can’t just stop eating as much or even just not eat at all?”
Heck, you can do both! But do you know what’s going to happen if you do? You won’t get the results you want in the long run. In fact, you could end up getting some results you weren’t even trying for: kidney failure, memory loss or even heart failure – just to give you an idea. By not eating, you are putting your body in starvation mode. When this occurs, your body starts to feed off of your body fat and your muscle. Once you are out of body fat, muscle is all that is left and guess what your brain and heart are? That’s right, two giant muscles. I’m not saying that your body will munch away on your brain until your head is an empty shell, but I am saying that it will slowly eat away at parts of it, causing memory loss, illusions, and other scary things. Keep in mind, even if you stop eating as much and are still eating crappy food, you aren’t doing your body any favors.
Instead, cut out all of the sugary drinks, processed foods, greasy foods, and get yourself on a clean and natural food path, including drinking plenty of water!
“So, OK. Eat right, whatever. Sure. But I heard that if I just run a lot, all of my weight will just melt away as quick as possible. That’s true, right?”
Not exactly. Yes, cardio is definitely an important part of weight loss and staying healthy, but it isn’t the one “magic solution.” By only using cardio in your workouts with no strength and resistance training, you are genuinely missing out on getting that nice, lean and toned look you have been wanting.
“Gees. Well, apparently I have to eat really healthy foods and have more than just running as part of my weight loss plan, is that it? Do you not have any advice you can give on making my stomach look better or helping my arms not shake when I wave in that tank top I hope to be wearing? “
