Can’t you just taste it now? The fried chicken that your Grandmother used to have prepared almost every Sunday for family dinners? Battered to perfection and fried to just the perfect crispiness. Or how about those French Fries from your favorite fast food place? Are you the person who likes the soggy ones dripping with grease? Or are you more the type who loves the “crunch” that a perfectly fried potato can offer when it’s done just right?

Wait! Before you grab your keys and head out to your go-to fast food joint, I feel I should give you a heads up about what you are about to experience. No, not those yummy flavors and crunch sensations. I’m talking about the not-so-delectable side of fried, greasy foods. The side that so many people seem to ignore or just simply haven’t been informed of. So, before you go…take a look!
1. It Causes Disease to Develop in the Heart
Really? We are putting things in our mouths that have the ability to cause Heart Disease? It sounds absurd, but many people already know this unsettling fact about fried foods, yet they continue to eat them. Think about it. People know that something is literally causing their heart-their source of life-to develop diseases and still risk it!
Foods that are deep fried are commonly very high in fat and can cause LDL levels to rise, which in turn causes cholesterol to increase. When cholesterol increases, it can put the body at risk for a heart attack and/or heart disease.
2. Youthful Skin Will Become a Thing of the Past
If you struggle with oily spots, red splotchiness or acne when it comes to your skin, you definitely aren’t doing yourself any favors by consuming greasy fried foods. Meats, cheeses and vegetables are all doing you much more harm than good once you lower them into that bubbly grease. Aged skin and cystic type acne have been proven to be very common struggles of fried food consumers.
Our skin cells need fat to stay healthy and have a nice glow. Foods with healthy fats like avocados, nuts or legumes give our skin the fat nutrients it needs to stay thriving. When unhealthy fats like fried meats or French fries are consumed regularly, our skin will then suffer the consequences. The next time you see a nice greasy fried hamburger steak on the menu and consider ordering it, pause and think about the events coming up that week. Do you really want to have a greasy, oily, acne covered face for a week or more, just so that you can eat a piece of fried food?!
3. It Causes Your Body to Gain Fat
What’s the one thing all of us wish we could get rid of? That’s right, body fat! It seems crazy to me that so many people know that fried foods are a direct cause of body fat but they still eat them up like crazy! It just shows how terribly addictive these bad for you foods have become. They have such a hold over us. A hold so strong that, we know that if we give these fried foods up, we have the opportunity to live a happy and healthier life, but we choose to eat poorly. How insane! We are choosing to eat a doughnut for breakfast, instead of choosing to add more years to our life? What a powerful control this unhealthy food has on us. Only when we decide to practice self-control from fried foods, will we see the body fat problem in the world, start to disappear.
I sure think that the risks outweigh the rewards when it comes to “enjoying” fried, greasy foods. I really hope that after reading this article, you now realize this too and will think twice next time the opportunity arises for you to consider fried foods!
