Pamela Sitton and her husband Tom moved to Douglasville from Hawaii. In Hawaii they enjoyed a very active lifestyle outdoors surfing, swimming, biking, and running. With the move to a different climate staying active was a given. How they would adapt their activities to their new environment was the unknown. Thinking back, Pamela fondly remembers the day, 18 years ago, when she and her husband met with Tom Butler and joined Gold’s Gym, which at that time, was known as the Douglasville Health and Athletic Club.
Lauren, their daughter, was born in 1997. Exercise and being fit has always been important to Pamela so soon after Lauren was born she hit the gym to get back in shape. Lauren would accompany her mother to the gym and enjoyed her time in the Kids Klub or with her mom in classes.
An avid exerciser, Pamela continues to work out at the gym at least 5 days a week. Growing up in that environment Lauren saw how important fitness and health was to her mom. When Lauren turned 12 she became a member of Gold’s Gym. She could be found at the gym on the weekends when her school schedule allowed. Now Lauren home schools 3 days a week and still finds time to fit the gym in her schedule.
Together mom and daughter enjoy Ride, Core and Power classes. Pamela knows that Lauren understands the importance of working out for good health, stress management and for the fun of it. Last year their son Christian turned 12 and got his own membership. As Pamela said, working out will always be important to their family. It is extra special when the family is working out together.
Are you inspired to work out together or are you already working out with a family member? We’d like to hear about it!
