Maintaining a regular fitness routine is quite an accomplishment. But sometimes it gets difficult to balance a “sweaty” habit with your work life. And no one wants to spend too much time getting ready to go from gym to office! So how do you make the transition easier?
Here are some helpful tips to keeping a regular fitness routine:
1) Think through hair products:
If you’re a woman, make sure you have a ponytail holder, bobby pins and dry shampoo on hand. Wear your hair up in a loose bun or braid to avoid kinks if you let it down during office hours later in the day. Sea salt sprays are all the rage now and help add some texture to hair post-workout too. Men, keep your grooming tools on hand and some emergency hair gel or pomade to help mask any hair out of place. Or simply be prepared to shower quickly if your gym provides a shower and avoid hats during your workouts to help your hair “recover.”
2) Pack a bag:
While it might seem obvious, you’ll avoid as much effort transitioning from gym to office if you pack your gym bag the night before. Always have your flip-flops and towel on hand if you plan to shower and your work clothes hung in a locker for a quick wardrobe change. Pack a post-workout bar or protein powder to help your muscles recover and get ready for the rest of your day. And don’t forget to include a laundry bag to keep your sweaty clothes separate from the rest of your items.
3) Choose comfort:
This is an optional tip but can help minimize the effort as you head into the office: Choose comfortable and easy work clothes if possible, especially if you’re having a hard time cooling down post-workout. I think we can all agree that it’s difficult to get into something form-fitting or time-consuming after you maxed out in the gym.
Don’t make working out any harder than it has to be. You’re starting your day in an inspiring and healthy way and deserve to transition into the office with ease. Follow these easy morning hacks to help support your early workout routine and you’ll have no problem staying on track each day!
