Need some help getting to the gym during an already packed and stressful week? If so, grab a calendar or your smartphone and follow this awesome tip!
Make an appointment to work out just as you’d make an appointment for the dentist, a massage, or to work on your taxes with a CPA.
We set aside time for important events such as these and mark them on our calendars. Fitness should be a priority too! Set aside an hour and even a backup hour later in the day to ensure that you get to the gym and don’t schedule anything else during that time instead. When you make an appointment to work out, you’re telling yourself that this is an important thing to do and make time for—it deserves a time slot.
But you also have to practice following through and “making your appointment.” This will soon become a technique you can rely on if you invest some consistency into it.
And if you still find yourself skipping the gym despite having a time set aside on your calendar, why not schedule another time slot to meet up with a friend afterward or create something to look forward to once you get done working out? Find the things that will really motivate you and keep you consistent, and get ready for your body to reap the benefits.
