I grew up here in our area Gold’s. I’ve been active since I was Young. It started with Roller Skating as an Amateur Figure Skater when I was 6. Played lots of sports in High School. Track and Field, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Dance.
I kind of fell into Teaching at the Gym. I was always active but never really took classes. So after being the one who was always on the treadmill. I finally made my way into a class at Gold’s and our own Ms. Kim Murphy who was teaching was like you should try this!!! I was not sure of it but gave it a whirl and now I blinked and it’s been 12 years!!! Whoa I guess time flies when you’re having fun!

What led you to group fitness? Believe it or not! I’m actually pretty shy. So getting up in a room full of people with a microphone on and helping people to workout was what I saw as a challenge. Now I’m not as shy and I love My Members!! I like to think we have the best At Gold’s and that starts with our members!! They are so dedicated to Us, So that in turn makes me want to push myself harder so they have a great experience at our gym.
How do you spend your time outside of the gym? I have gotten into Road Cycling. In the last 3 Years I’ve been in a few 100 mile rides and was lucky enough to win in my age group a couple of times. It’s great being outside enjoying the views. I never thought I would like as much as I do!!!
Some advice for our GGX class members: It’s okay to say you’re new or have a certain injury that might not let you do everything in class. Please let your Instructor know!! We can help you so you can stay and enjoy your workout and not feel overwhelmed. Also if you ever have to leave early for whatever the case may be. Just give us Instructors a wave so we know you’re okay. Or tell us before class that you’re leaving early.
