On January 29 I joined Gold’s Gym and I was advised a team of personal trainers would be coming on board the first week in February. I signed up and had my assessment with Rebecca Morton. The following week I met Zak Ward, who would be my personal trainer. From that point forward I meet with Zak twice a week, with daily workouts in the interval.
Zak and Rebecca are professionals, and taking into account any physical conditions you may have they develop a plan for you. With me, it’s my atrial fibrillation, which is a heart condition characterized by an irregular, rapid heartbeat. From day 1 Zak has worked with me, pushing me a little more each session, which lasts about 40 minutes from warm up to cool down.
During the past month I have noticed significant muscle tone improvement, strength, and reduction in body fat. Controlling my breathing during workouts has improved, as has my endurance levels. Zak keeps an eye on me during workouts to ensure I don’t over-exert myself, but at the same time he pushes my endurance to build strength. I call it my “Zak Zen Zone” when I can do “just one more”.
Meeting with a personal trainer has definitely changed my lifestyle.
Dedicating the little amount of time every day to improve my health and muscle tone is definitely a reward I can see. My energy level is higher, I feel healthier, and I know I am on a right path to healthier living.
