Back in 2014 when Ken Wood first saw our annual Gold Gym’s Challenge announced and had heard the chatter from other participants, he had no idea what his determination and hard work would accomplish over the next 12 weeks, and eventually spill into the next 24 months. Ken was ready to make big changes in his life—and losing weight and changing eating habits were at the top of his list—but he knew he couldn’t do it alone. A group life challenge was just what he needed to kick start these changes.
Ken will be the first to admit that staying on track has been challenging, but everything he has been doing is well worth the effort. Maintaining a proper diet and eating routine have been the most difficult aspects of staying in shape, but the benefits of looking good and keeping the weight off far outweigh slipping back into comfort foods and lazy days.
Even after the Gold’s Gym Challenge, Ken continues working with trainer Tre Capp, and even Capp continues to be impressed by Ken’s commitment and diligence. Ken has found that getting into the routine of hitting the gym every day was much easier than he originally thought it would be.
Nearly two years later, Ken’s perception of health and wellness have improved drastically since first signing up for the Challenge. He feels better, looks better and he continues to challenge himself every day. Ken’s New Year’s Resolution for 2017 is to continue to keep the weight off, trim more body fat and increase lean muscle mass.
For all of you thinking of joining the Gold’s Gym Challenge, Ken encourages everyone to get in shape, “It’ll add years to your life span.”
So what are you waiting for? Be like Ken, and make 2017 your healthiest year yet when you join us for the upcoming Gold’s Gym Challenge. Stop in today and sign up for what could be the biggest transformation of your life.
