We all have that friend, the one who comes to the gym with you once or twice and has the best intentions, but after a visit or two – they stop coming with us. We’ve compiled a list of 7 WAYS TO MAXIMIZE 7 DAYS for you to share with that friend. If we can increase the value they get from their 7 Day VIP Pass, then we can increase the likelihood of their long term success. So feel free to share these tips with them, and head over here to sign them up for a 7 Day VIP Pass (when you sign them up, you get credit for our current referral promotion, get more details about our current promotion in the club.).
USE ALL 7 DAYS:
Most people don’t use all 7 days of their pass. This is a mistake. The best way to get the most value from your 7 day membership, is to use all 7 days. By planning your week you can ensure that issues like overtraining and recovery are addressed while still maximizing the value of your 7 day membership.
GET A FREE TRAINER:
Take advantage of any free sessions with a trainer that you’re offered. And if you’re not offered one – ask! Even if it’s not a standard offer, many clubs will give you a complimentary session if you ask for one. Day 1 of your 7 day membership should be spent with a trainer learning as much as you can about how to best reach your specific goals, and to get feedback about how you’re planning to spend days 2-7.
TAKE A CLASS OR TWO, OR SEVEN:
Go to the Group Fitness Classes! These instructor-led workouts will ensure you’re using your time wisely and getting the most bang for your workout buck. Try to schedule your week so that you are getting different types of workouts on back-to-back days. For example, follow a cardio day (spinning, aerobics, etc.) with a strength-training day (sculpt, power, etc.) and on days you feel like you need to recover check out a yoga or pilates class. This will allow you to go to your gym for 7 consecutive days without overtraining.
MAKE NEW FRIENDS:
Socialize! Meet members who are working toward goals similar to yours, or who enjoy the same workouts or classes. The power of having workout buddies will spill beyond your 7 days and help you maintain your motivation to reach your goals.
Don’t be afraid of “double-days” – you’ve only committed to a week so don’t be afraid to schedule double sessions or event to visit the club twice in one day. The more you can expose yourself to during this week (especially classes) the more information you’ll have in your arsenal to maintain your progress outside the gym after your week ends.
PESTER THE STAFF:
Okay, don’t pester them, but talk to them. Ask lots of questions! Most employees in a gym work there because they’re passionate about fitness and wellness. Take advantage of what they know and learn as much as you can about how to reach your goals from people who genuinely want to see you reach them!
ASK FOR A SPECIAL DEAL:
If you decide that you like the club, great! Find a salesperson, or someone who can work with you to get you a great deal on membership. Lots of times, clubs give their sales staff the ability to create extra incentives to get you to join. Don’t be shy to ask for a deal!
