My love for health and fitness began at an early age. I was always active and in sports from 2nd grade through high school. However, when I was in my junior year of high school, I started to gain weight from depression, low self-esteem, and body issues that I had a hard time dealing with. I wasn’t living a healthy lifestyle like I had once lived. One day, I decided it was time for a change. I began reading all kinds of different articles and talking to personal trainers at my gym. I got into various types of exercise, read about the body and its functions and learned how to eat properly and really grasp the science behind nutrition. I began exploring different kinds of physical activity. I became more knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology and how nutrition impacts us and began to put this into my daily practice. This made me happy and I found my outlet in the gym. Consequently, other members began asking me for tips and if I was a personal trainer. I hadn’t considered it previously, but being in my second year of college, I decided I wanted to help change the lives of others and to see them achieve their goals as I had. I knew what it felt like to want to make a change and I wanted to help make that change happen for others through personal training.
Becoming certified and helping others throughout the years has really been a fulfilling and amazing opportunity. It’s so rewarding to see the smile and look of accomplishment across a client’s face when training. It really makes everything that I do an incredible experience and the most enjoyable feeling I could ever imagine in a job. This career is not just about making people look good; it’s about changing that individual inside and out. I want to help mold them into that confident person that I know they can be and help them feel their best. I believe that this is what I was put on this earth to do.
