What is GOLD’SFIT?
To help people become the best possible version of themselves by improving their quality of movement, work capacity, and overall health through fitness, nutrition, coaching and a caring community.
GOLD’SFIT preaches and teaches “Sustainable Fitness” to push each person to become the best athlete they can be. The human body, by nature, is designed to adapt to nearly any stressor (exercise) and strives to become as efficient as possible with any task or effort it is repeatedly exposed to. Many do not realize there is an associated metabolic and mechanical cost to adaptation.
The current trend within some popular functional fitness programs is to push for progress by working harder. Everyday athletes in these programs tend to find out just how much work they can “survive” in their workout. No pain, no gain mentality. However, merely “surviving” your workout is not sustainable and on a long enough continuum is accompanied by injury and burnout. We focus on low risk/high return movements in our daily program design that enable our athletes to achieve maximal results while minimizing the risk of injury and burnout.
We require all GOLD’SFIT coaches to maintain a national certificate of personal training as well as passing our GOLD’SFIT certification course which includes demanding physical and comprehensive testing.
Across the country, all gyms follow a unified program design intended to enable athletes to participate every day, if desired. This allows our coaches to keep the highest standard of movement, improving each workout taught each day by giving feedback through an our internal basecamp to the national coaching community.
What is a typical session like?
GOLD’SFIT is a fully supervised, hour-long workout in a small group personal training setting with a typical maximum capacity of 20 athletes. In each session, you will be led through a strength and conditioning workout using the following format:
- Warm Up – preparing your body for the strength and conditioning workout that is assigned for the day; in many cases, this will include extensive stretching and/or self myofascial release practice
- Skill/Strength portion – the focus will be on developing a particular skill (such as rowing, jump rope, etc.) and/or strength (hinging movements, pull up movements, push/press movements, etc.); skill/strength focus is developed with the intent to grow and change on a pre-determined time table to prevent plateaus in our athletes
- Training portion – strength and cardio movements will come together for a rigorous period of training where athletes will push their physical and mental limits to complete the assigned drill.
- After Burner – when time allows, the after burner will wrap up the workout with a variety of options including extra core work, open floor time for skill practice, or additional self care (stretching and self myofascial release practice)
Each training session is supervised and directed by a Certified Personal Trainer who will provide ongoing education, motivation and accountability.
Is GOLD’SFIT right for me?
During each workout, the trainer will provide options for each exercise, and you are encouraged to choose the option and pace that are right for you. This flexibility makes this a good workout option for any fitness level!
