On Thursday, May 24th, Gold’s Gym of Manassas hosted a Prince William Chamber Business after Hours. Over 90 attendees toured the facility, enjoyed food provided by Bella Vita, and heard a powerful testimonial from Gold’s employee Landon Faint.
The program kicked off with owner Bob Rawlins recounting the history of Gold’s Gym, founded by Joe Gold in Venice Beach, California in 1965. While Gold’s Gym was famous for launching the careers of body builders Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno, the Manassas facility is truly a family fitness center. The membership is equally weighted between men and women, and focuses on overall health and wellness. Offerings include 42 group fitness classes per week, spin classes, Boot Camp, a Cardio Cinema, and weight equipment. The facility, located at 9705 Liberia Ave in Manassas, is family owned and operated, and makes it a policy to solicit and respond to member comments and suggestions.
The evening took a personal turn when Marketing Director and Group Fitness Instructor Diane Hayes introduced Gold’s employee Landon Faint. Landon has radically changed his life through a dedication to exercise and dietary control and has lost 100 pounds. The crowd cheered as Landon came forward and Ms Hayes held up the before and after pictures. “Landon is an inspiration, and his success proves that hard work and perseverance pay off. We strive to provide a high quality facility, with an expert staff to help our members achieve their goals. We also realize the importance of a friendly, supportive environment. Our members enjoy the atmosphere of our facility, and they know we are invested in their success,” commented Hayes.
The evening culminated in a drawing for door prizes, including a “money tree” donated by Gold’s Gym member and financial advisor Rob Sturm, which was won by photographer Lillis Werder, and the grand prize, a one-year membership won by Katie Kraft of RGS Title.
