More than 45 years ago, Joe Gold opened a modest fitness center in Venice Beach, California and began a tradition of commitment, passion and dedication that is now practiced at more than 700 locations across the globe.

What are the gym rules?
Our staff wants to make certain that every visit is a great experience in a non-intimidating environment. To ensure this, we enforce the following rules:
- No dropping weights, loud screaming/grunting, or intimidating other members.
- No jeans, no work boots, no sandals/flip-flops, no do-rags, bandannas, or string tank tops.
- You must re-rack weights and wipe down the machines after each use.
- No power lifting and no chalk.
- No cell phones allowed on the workout floor.
- No workout bags allowed on the workout floor.
We also encourage each member to bring their own towel for use during their workout and to wipe down each piece of equipment after use.
