GGX Instructor Spotlight

Laura Schmocker

Being a Body Combat instructor is empowering to me. It means fitness, confidence, power and passion. Being an instructor has changed my life. In turn I am now able to help shape and change the lives of others. I gave birth to my first child in August 2002. I gained 45 pounds but did not care because I was a first time mommy in total bliss. Until I saw a photo of myself and wondered, "Who is that house!!" I got back in the gym two-three times a day, five times a week doing only the various Les Mills programs. Then I decided why not become an instructor I'm at the gym all the time anyway. That's when it all started!

I became a Body Combat instructor in 2004. The weight finally started coming off. I went from a size 14 to a size 8 over two years. Being an instructor has given me self confidence, power and strength inside & out! I love guiding members through each "round", unleashing their energy & power.

Along my journey through instructing I became pregnant again in 2006. During this pregnancy I continued to be a Combat instructor, it was a completely different experience than my first pregnancy. I had energy and I only gained 19 pounds total! The delivery was super fast and easy. I attribute it all to keeping with my Combat classes. Not only that, it took just six months to loose all my baby fat and a dress size, yah baby! Now a size 6 with two adorable boys, ages 14 months and 5 years I am at my best fitness level ever. THANK YOU Les Mills, Body Combat ROCKs!
