From Bozeman to Pakistan

Gold’s Gym, Bozeman teams up with the Central Asia Institute to bring fun and fitness to third world country

Gold’s Gym, Bozeman has long supported the efforts of Author and founder of the Central Asia Institute, Greg Mortenson.  During his regular work out sessions with personal trainer, Jeff McMillan the pair came up with the idea to bring along a little fun and fitness to Mortenson’s next trip to the high altitude villages in Northern Pakistan

.  Gold’s Gym Bozeman donated 250 jump ropes and Gold’s Gym t-shirts to the children, most of who have never seen or used a jump rope.

“The support of the Gold’s Gym community has been incredible,” said Mortenson.  “Gold’s has made a difference in my life and health and Gold’s has supported the fight against terror through education and offered hope to tens of thousands of children around the world.  A simple jump rope encourages fitness and brings some much needed fun into their lives.”

Mortenson founded the Central Asia Institute, a non profit organization, in 1994.  As Executive Director, Mortenson oversees CAI’s mission to provide education for the children of Pakistan .  Mortenson believes in fighting terrorism with education and is the author of the newly released book “Three Cups of Tea – Fighting   Terrorism   One   School at a Time.” The work of the CAI is more important than ever following the October 8, 2005 ,  7.6 magnitude earthquake, which killed 84,000 people of whom 18,000 were in school at the time.

For more information or to make donations please visit the Central Asia Institute website at http://www.ikat.org/

Gold’s Gym Bozeman is proud to support Mortenson and will continue to provide opportunities for fun and fitness to the schools he works so hard to create.
