What is Taekwondo?

  • Taekwondo is both an ancient Korean Martial Art, and a modern International Olympic sport.
  • Taekwondo is a mental and physical discipline designed over 2000 years with the ultimate goal being mental and physical health.
  • But most importantly....Taekwondo is fun!

Why study Taekwondo?

  • It’s a practical training regimen in self defense.
  • A regular exercise schedule to gain flexibility, build stamina and strength.
  • To help relieve stress and anxiety built up from the pressures of everyday life.
  • To improve self-esteem and concentration.

Can I Study Taekwondo?

Do I need to have martial arts experience to begin?
Not at all!  Our Taekwondo program is not only designed to facilitate beginners as well as those with prior martial arts experience.

Do I need to get in shape to do Taekwondo?
That is exactly why many people come to Taekwondo class, to better their physical condition.  We have trained people of all ages and ranging physical abilities.

I'm worried that I can't keep up or am not coordinated enough.
Worries of being inadequate or unable to keep up in class are the most common fears that new students have.  We understand this and pay close attention to your abilities and progress in order to tailor exercises to individuals, even in a class setting.

Isn't Taekwondo for kids/am I too old to get started?
Not at all true...more than half of the students we have trained started during adult years and have continued training.
