I began my fitness journey when I could no longer comfortably sit in the ride with my kids, when my blood pressure and cholesterol were beginning to spike, when I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. My father had passed away and I stopped caring so much about me. I found excuses to live an unhealthy life and tell myself that it was ok. I was 80 lbs overweight and finally decided enough was enough. I was too young to allow myself to feel this way any longer. I began taking Zumba, in the back of the class (because I am intimidated, shy and can’t shake it to save me lol). 3 days a week, low impact, but I began to see a difference with just that and a diet change. I saw the weight shedding off; I found that I had a waist under that belly and that I had some beautiful curves. I wanted more! I gained confidence, I began to learn the moves and slowly I moved up closer to the instructor, I pushed to a higher intensity. And before I knew it, I was in front of the class, helping those in the back row just like I had been. I have never looked back. My amazing family, and awesome gym friends and family, the co-workers and fellow instructors, all helped me be who I am today. I am a mom of 4, a fur baby mom, a wife and more than anything, I am me. And I am happy with who that is now. I LOVE to help others find comfort in who they are, achieve their goals, and grow further than they ever thought possible.

Some advice for our GGX class members: My advice for anyone, new or seasoned to the GGX Class experience. Don’t worry about what others are doing. Your only competition is that of the person starring back at you in the mirror. You take the options that will challenge YOU, not your neighbor. As long as you walk out feeling successful than you have done exactly what you came to do!
