Have you heard the exciting news? The Gold’s Gyms of West Ga have a new Group Fitness class coming! Gold’s Gym on Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville and Gold’s Gym off the East-West Connector in Cobb, are excited to soon be home to BARRE Group Fitness classes! Don’t worry – the other Group Fitness classes you have grown to love will still be available, too!
Many of you have already heard of BARRE, but there may also be a group of you out there who don’t have a clue as to what BARRE is or why you should be excited that it is headed your way. No worries! Below, I have put together a little information that covers some of the most common questions and concerns that have been asked recently, since we announced that BARRE will be coming soon. BARRE is NOT Ballet
When people search for the phrase “BARRE Class” online, they often look at the first couple of images and jump to conclusions. That conclusion – more often than not – being that BARRE is a ballet class. Let’s get this straight: BARRE IS NOT BALLET! If you show up to BARRE in a tutu and ballet slippers, that is by your own choice. You won’t be learning the Nutcracker and you won’t be given the opportunity to be tossed in the air by a man in a leotard. If that happens, just know it isn’t part of the BARRE program and we may need to talk. BARRE takes the root of what is used in many ballet classes and puts a twist on it. BARRE is almost a “you have to experience it, to appreciate it” kind of class.
BARRE is NOT just Simple Stretches
Many who have seen BARRE studios, look in the window and see men and women in stretching positions. It may look like they are just working on the limberness of their body. It does so, so much more than that! BARRE is a class that is well known for helping you find muscles that you didn’t even know existed in your body. That isn’t a scary thing – I promise! In fact, finding them now and strengthening them is way better than finding out down the road at an older age, that you never used them and they are almost unusable! What I’m saying is that BARRE is amazing for working weaker areas of your body, that you don’t normally work in every day movements. BARRE will also assist you in sculpting lean upper and lower body muscles, while also aiding in chiseling out those abdominal muscles you have been trying to earn for such long time now! Not to mention, if you are someone who struggles with flexibility and limited range of motion, BARRE is the class you need to attend!
