Sorry everyone, but I’ll risk being the bearer of bad news if it means informing you of the truth.
There are tons and tons of false information floating around the health and fitness world so that certain businesses and companies can gain your trust. These companies build their empires by falsely providing you with information that in turn forces you to invest in them – not only emotionally but financially.
Wouldn’t you want to know if you were wasting your time and money on something that in all actuality isn’t going to make a difference for you?
Read on to see if the wool has been pulled over YOUR eyes by any of these common lies…
- Certain foods will make your belly vanish
There are absolutely ZERO foods that will make your stomach fat disappear. Yes, you read that right. Zero. Zip. Nada. None. There are no exotic fruits, rare vegetables or ancient spices and herbs that if consumed will completely incinerate the fat around your mid-section. Foods don’t have the ability to pick the places your body loses weight. That is just not how it works!
- Diet pills will shrink your waist
There isn’t a diet pill in the world that will dissolve in your body and direct itself straight to your gut to fight off fat. You may have seen some commercials that use doctors to promote and endorse this type of product. Maybe you think that a doctor is backing this product so it has to be good right? Well, there you go being sucked in by an image. I bet you would promote their products and say whatever you were told, too, if you were given a check with the number on it that those doctors are given!
What you are seeing isn’t always what you are getting, guys. The only thing diet pills are actually proven to do are suppress your appetite, give you a limited energy boost and raise your heart rate.
- Liposuction is the answer to banishing the belly for good
Known as the “rich person’s exercise”, lipo is thought to be the end all to having fat in places you don’t want it. This is 100% false. While, yes, liposuction surgery will suck out the fat from your body, it will NOT keep it from coming back. Lipo is a completely short-term solution. If you had poor eating and exercise habits before you got the surgery, you can guarantee that if you return to that type of post lipo lifestyle, you will see that belly fat reappear.
- Wrapping up your stomach will shed its weight
As a person who makes their living trying to get others to understand the value of exercise and healthy eating, this lie in particular really gets under my skin.
These “miracle” wraps are a really big thing right now and depict a completely inaccurate portrayal of its benefits. These wraps claim that if you apply them to your stomach or problem areas, you will shrink in your pants size and/or lose body fat and inches.
Let me be clear: This is a horrendous and misleading L-I-E! Inches can be lost only in the sense of water weight by this wrapping method. The wraps are designed to make your body sweat under them and this produces a less bloated appearance. This results of the “inches shedding” that is advertised is just water being sweat out from your body. As soon as you drink a lot of water again or eat food that is incredibly high in sodium, you will be right back to where you were before your wrap!
Body fat CANNOT be pulled out through your skin people. That is physically impossible.
The truth hurts. So, share the truth and the love.
