In your 20s and 30s, regular activity not only maintains good health, it also prepares your body for the future. Start good exercise and nutritional habits now! Our fitness center offers:
- Cardio training and aerobic activity (such as spinning) for overall fitness and heart health. For entertainment while you exercise, workout in the Cardio Cinema.
- Strength training promotes muscle strength, endurance and stamina. Try out gym’s free weights.
- For a quick 11-minute workout blast of both strength and cardio training, try circuit training. Complete our 11-minute express circuit over your lunch hour for increased strength and endurance.
- Have fun while you workout in one of our group exercise classes such as Get Active, Group Blast, Group Power and Group Kick!
As you reach your 40s and 50s, you’ll begin to notice changes in your joints, stamina and fatigue level. Women will experience decreasing hormone levels, which affects heart, bone and muscle health. Regular physical activity is key in the 40s to promote heart health, increase bone strength (to prevent osteoporosis later) and maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol numbers.
Single station equipment, such as treadmills, cycles and free weights, let you work at your own speed. Gold’s Gym in Douglasville also features Lady Gold’s, a ladies only gym featuring free weights, cardio equipment and circuit training.
Once an adult achieves their 60s, muscles and joints may begin to weaken or ache with arthritis. At this age, weight bearing and resistance workouts are essential, as are heart health exercises such as walking on the treadmills or spinning. Zumba Gold is a low intensity, fun way to stay active.
