If you haven’t complained about some part of your body by now, you must be a genuine alien from Mars. Chances are, you are like the rest of the human population and just can’t stand certain parts of your body. For men, it’s normally having legs that are too skinny or a gut that is too round. And in case you didn’t know, the round heavy stomach is one the most dangerous types of body fat that a man can have! For women, the body parts we are constantly complaining about are…er…well, our bodies in general, really.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m guilty of this. You might say, “But, aren’t you a Personal Trainer? Don’t you just workout all day long? There’s nothing for you to complain about like me.” Are you kidding?! I am a girl, so I think by default it is my duty to whine about the parts of my body that I’m not happy with. For me it’s an area in my stomach. Where is it for you – maybe your inner thighs? Could it be your rear end has a little more texture under the skin than it used to? Or maybe, just maybe, you deal with the – dare I say it – bat wing?
As I was getting my hair done the other day, I was talking to my friend about setting up a workout with me. She was complaining about the way her arms looked and I told her she was crazy. She looked at me in the mirror and stuck her arm up and waved it back and forth as if to say, “You have no idea what I am dealing with. Look at this.” I couldn’t help but laugh. Not particularly at her, but at the fact of how many people have done that to me throughout the years.
The under arm flab or bat wing as I mentioned before, is one of the most frustrating trouble spots that women have dealt with for all of eternity. It causes you to feel uncomfortable in almost anything that doesn’t have a sleeve, maybe even causing you to wear a sweater at a mid July BBQ in the blazing hot summer.
