Is it possible one of these detoxes or cleanses could work for you? Do they really “flush the fat” away? Come on, don’t you think if these cleanses, juice diets and detoxes were all they proclaimed to be, we would all have the ideal physiques that we long for?
I don’t know if you have looked around lately, but there are plenty of people in this world that are still incredibly over weight and at risk for tons of various health problems. Yet here we all are clearing the shelves of those drinks or ingredients we are told to buy, because we are promised that this one, THIS ONE is the answer to all our prayers for weight loss.
Read below and learn a little more about why detoxes and cleanses are one of the biggest shams on the market:
SUGAR, SUGAR AND MORE SUGAR!
As if the heading of this point doesn’t explain itself enough. One of the down falls with most detoxes and cleanses is that they are packed slam full of sugar. Yes, there is plenty of fruit in them and yes fruits are healthy foods. But, like I have said in many other articles in the past, too much of a good thing can most definitely be a bad thing. Fruits are made up of natural sugars. Those sugars are processed in our bodies the exact same way as the processed white sugar in cakes and pies. Our bodies cannot tell the difference between the two. So, when you drink a bottle of whatever detoxing or cleansing juice that you have chosen, you are actually doing yourself more harm than good. Since the body turns sugar into fat, you are filling your body full of exactly what you are trying to get rid of.
WEIGHT LOSS or BLOAT LOSS?
Confused? Don’t be. It’s actually quite simple. Most of these drinks claim to help you “lose inches” and “lose weight”, right? Technically they do and technically they don’t. What does that mean exactly? Well, by only drinking a liquid detox/cleanse drink for say 1-3 days, you are going to lose inches. Just like if you only drank water and ate clean foods for 1-3 days. The inches you are losing are not body fat. What you see disappearing is bloat. The body holds onto water weight when we consume too much sodium (salt). And since these drinks don’t have that much sodium, we will excrete that excess sodium bloat when we go to the bathroom. So, when you see that a couple of pounds and a few inches have been lost, don’t get too excited. Once you stop this “cleanse” of your system and you go back to eating and drinking how you did before the cleanse/detox, you will be right back where you started. It’s a cycle. There is no permanent change that these detoxes and cleanses can offer you.
So you see, all of these detoxes/cleanses/juicing fads are in fact NOT all they are cracked up to be. There will always be a new fad in this market claiming to be the one true answer for our weight loss. But now you are one step ahead of these marketing schemers and can skip over these money pits and go the healthy, beneficial and long term route instead! You can drink lots of water, eat your lean meats and vegetables and workout 3-4 days a week and be the person you are trying to be! No more yo-yo affect.
