The #1 reason people give up on their weight loss routines or healthy eating patterns is because they do not see results as fast as they were hoping. What they forget, is that it took a good long while to put that weight on their bodies. Since it took so long to put that weight on, it’s a guarantee that it will take some time to get the weight off. Sure, you can starve yourself and risk being sent to the hospital for an aneurism, stroke or seizure due to your body being malnourished. OR you can be patient and know great things really do take time. Do your workouts each day, watch your eating and you are guaranteed to see change in time. Don’t rush the process!
Yes. Eat FOOD. Why am I emphasizing the word food? Because, some people don’t really understand what actual food is! There is real food and then there is fake food. Real food is what was intended for us to eat and has been provided to us by plants and animals. Fake food is food that is prepackaged, artificially sweetened, created in a lab by some chemist or has a shelf life. Eating this fake food puts you at risk for all kinds of health issues such as cancer, hypertension, heart attack and obesity. It is going to make you lethargic, moody and will take a major toll on your body. Real food, however, will provide you with sustainable energy, it will help keep diseases away and it will assist you in keeping a healthy looking and feeling body! Hmm… Doesn’t seem like too tough of a choice to me. EAT REAL FOOD!

Many people don’t realize just how much sleep plays a part in weight loss. It affects the body’s metabolism and its ability to perform at a peak performance level. When we get less than 8 hours of sleep, we are setting ourselves up to not be our best the following day. Don’t stay up late watching t.v. and sleep until the late hours of the morning. Get your sleep each night and wake up refreshed and rejuvenated each day!
Focus On Your Own Success!
This is SO important, guys. So many people don’t understand that we do not all lose weight at the same pace. What we have to understand is that we are all at different fitness levels and that is OK! Some people have injuries, some people are older, some people are younger, and some people lose weight in one place while others lose it in another. No one is exactly the same. Don’t compare your success to your friends or the people in the fitness magazines. I promise you that those people all have their own struggles we know nothing about. Remember, some things aren’t always what they seem. Like I said, focus on your own personal goals and how you can do your best to achieve them. Don’t concern and compare yourself to anyone else!
Picking & Choosing Is NOT An Option
When it comes to weight loss, you do not get to choose where your weight comes off from first or last. Another term for this is “spot training”. Spot training is when people work one area of the body very excessively in hopes that they will lose all their body fat in that area. It doesn’t work like that guys, I’m sorry. I have clients ask me all the time what they can do to get rid of “this” and point to specific areas on their body. So, we work on some exercises that are meant to target the muscles in that area. Unfortunately, I find them obsessing over those exercises and doing hundreds of those particular exercises, thinking that they are going to just melt the fat right off that area. What’s worse is they come to me for help and guidance and when I tell them that they are wasting their time, they ignore me and continue anyway; only to discover later that I was right. Our bodies choose where we lose our weight. We don’t have the luxury in picking ourselves where it comes off. Stay focused and continue to work on your entire body when you work out. You will soon enough see the results you desire!
