So, it’s no secret that losing weight will help you look better. But what many don’t consider are all the other positive aspects that weight loss has to offer. Don’t get me wrong, of course looking better and having more confidence is a great side effect of losing unnecessary weight but there are SO many more things that can happen while you are losing the weight and when it’s gone!

When our bodies are carrying extra weight on them, it does a number to our joints. They already have a tough job but when we weigh more, we make that job 10 times harder. Your joints work hard for you, so why not work hard for them?
By losing weight, your knees will be able to support your body so much better and they will be able to keep you up on your feet for much longer periods of time. Whereas if you have unnecessary weight on your body, you may catch yourself not being able to bend at the knees, walk up the stairs or even stand in general.
Your Heart Will Thank You!
It’s pretty common knowledge that those who are overweight are more susceptible to heart attack, heart disease and heart failure. Your heart is your life source. It LITERALLY is what keeps you alive every day. Think about it, even before birth, your heart is working like a mad man 24/7 to keep you alive and well. Why on earth would you want to punish something that does such an important job for your body?
Losing body fat weight will help your heart cut its work load in half. It won’t have to strain and push so much to get the blood flowing through your body and back to it. Also, by having clear pathways (arteries) that lead to your heart, the blood can move quickly and freely all around your body. So keep your heart free of surrounding fat and your arteries wide open!

If you are overweight, you know the struggles are all too real when it comes to trying to get a good night’s sleep or even just a nap! The heavier you are, the harder it is to get comfortable, to breathe and fall asleep. You can’t sleep on your back because you feel like you have an elephant sitting on your chest. You can’t sleep on your front because your lungs feel squished and you can’t take a good breath in and you can’t sleep on your side because you can’t get your weight distributed just right.
Your body needs sleep! When the body carries so much weight all day long, it’s working in overdrive to support itself. So, when it comes time to call it quits, your heart and brain are still straining and putting in a lot of work. The problem is you may physically feel tired and just worn out, but you mentally can’t relax to fall asleep. Losing weight will not only help you feel more comfortable to go into a gratifying slumber but it will help you breathe better and become more relaxed as well!
