Water, water everywhere…and you don’t want to drink! If water bores you, then we’ve got the solution: 3 super tasty, fresh substitutions that are healthy and won’t pack on the pounds!
I get complaints from my clients all the time about how they “can’t just drink water” and how “it’s so boring” to them. I have even had some tell me they just flat out don’t like water! That one still perplexes me… None the less, everyone deserves options!
Below are a few of my favorite non-boring, anti-plain drinks to add some variety into your hydration routine!
The best part? They won’t sabotage your diet and healthy lifestyle! Take a look and see if any of these flavor-filled hydrators will interest your taste buds!

Coconut water is a great thirst quencher and is one of the best sources of hydration put on earth. That’s no exaggeration. It is very minimal in calories and offers more potassium than a banana! Coconut water is sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet, and has a light, nutty taste to it. Be careful though – many of the coconut water brands on the market add sugar to their drinks. Do make sure you read your nutrition labels and compare different brands before purchasing. Just a head’s up – the flavored coconut waters are normally the ones with the most added sugar in them!
La Croix is a sparkling water that is offered in no flavor and fruit flavors. La Croix is a great option for pregnant women who can’t drink socially or for those who are trying to kick the habit of soda. It has a fizzy taste and feel because of the sparkling water and is just sweet enough to cover that sweet-tooth craving. With ZERO calories and ZERO sugars per can, it’s a great option for those of us who want to get in our water every day, but also get tired and bored of the bland taste of regular water.
This is absolutely one of my FAVORITES! It is newer to the health drink market, but can still be found at most of your major grocery stores. bai comes in many flavors and is incredibly refreshing. My personal favorite is their Costa Rica Clementine flavor! These drinks are great because they aren’t packed of artificial sweeteners and preservatives and they only contain about 5 calories per serving.
But, A Warning
Even though I have given some advice on healthier drink options, I feel like I need to make sure I include that these ARE NOT meant to completely replace your water every single day. Water is still a VERY important part of us and how we keep pep in our step each day. Our bodies are made up of 50-65% water. Every body needs it to be its best!
