Well, the magic formula that supplies you with all these positive feelings is no other than… EXERCISE!
Huh? What? Exercise? You mean, that’s it? Yes, that’s it!
Studies have shown that when we regularly exercise, we have “happy chemicals”, or dopamine, released into our brains. Dopamine is necessary for us to feel happiness and pleasure sensations.
Have you been around some grumpy folks? There could be a reason for that. Everyone must grow old with time and we gradually lose our buildup of dopamine during the ageing process. This is one of the very important reasons we should all find ways to constantly stay active! Dopamine affects a number of key elements in our lives:
- Confidence: Generally, when we are happy, we feel more confident about ourselves.
- Self Esteem: When we do not feel good about our appearance, often more times than not, we end up with low self-esteem. This can affect our relationships, ability to set goals and our daily work lives. But, by exercising, this can all quickly change!
Since exercise makes us like the way we look, we tend to feel more empowered, thus feeling an extra boost in our confidence!
It’s simple: at the end of the day, who doesn’t want to live happier and less stress-filled lives? Seriously! By spending an average of 30 minutes a day, 3-5 days a week, doing some form of exercise, we can all become happier people! Why would we not want to make our lives more enjoyable? We sure can’t think of any good reason!
