If you are looking for a great way to get low-impact exercise that still challenges your body and feels good, look no further! The aquatic center at Gold’s Gym in Dewitt has got you covered.
Our aquatic center features an Olympic-sized swimming pool plus a whirlpool and sauna. So whether you are looking for a way to refresh and relax after a hard workout or a whole new way to workout, this member amenity is a terrific option for you to try.
Why not try some laps? Swimming is one of the best low-impact exercises that you can do. Water’s natural resistance makes your body work in ways that being out of the water just doesn’t. Swimming increases strength, is great cardio training, helps with endurance, and even flexibility. And it’s low-impact. That means it’s a way to work out with no added strain on muscle, joints, and skeleton. That’s great news for our senior members or anyone who is recovering from an injury or has a joint or muscular issue that can’t handle the more high-impact methods of regular workouts. You can do laps with or without a kickboard (a kickboard is a great way to get used to swimming without getting too tired). And if you’re not a strong swimmer or don’t know how to swim at all, you can look into our group swim lessons. We offer them for families and children as well. Just come by and ask at the front desk. In addition to regular swimming in our pool, we also have great aquatic classes that offer alternatives to some of our popular group fitness classes. Water aerobics is a way to get your blood pumping and your cardio training going without worrying about any stress on your joints. Or maybe you’d like to try water yoga so that you can stretch and relax both body and mind in the comfort of our gorgeous pool. There are great aquatic options for everyone.
When you are done with your workout, the other amenities of our aquatic center offer two terrific ways to relax. Our sauna will help your muscles relax and give you a quiet, peaceful place to sweat it out a little more while still experiencing a serene atmosphere to clear your mind before you leave the fitness center. Or spend a little time in our whirlpool and soak any muscle soreness away.
