I started with fitness in high school as a short stout freshman tired of being the fat kid. I spent my time in high school focusing on conditioning and weight loss though my participation in track and field and crew through high school. When I began to attend East Carolina University in North Carolina I decided to make a career out of my passion and began classes to get my BS as a Health and Fitness Specialist. In college I focused more on intramural and club sports while competing in winters in Giant Slalom and Boarder Cross snowboard races through the USCSA. Once I got out of college I switched my personal goals from weight lifting and performance athletics towards endurance sports and more specifically distance running, trail running, and triathlon. To this day those are my main focuses, but I have also began forays into power lifting.
At James Madison High School, I got my first dose of true conditioning and my passion for fitness began to bloom. In college I honed my knowledge and program design in weight lifting, and took special care to learn programming for endurance athletes and persons with orthopedic injuries. For the last 3 years I&39;ve been training a varying population of clientele and have expanded even further on my knowledge base in training and rehab of endurance athletes and older populations, especially those with injuries to consider.
