I currently teach a gentle flow yoga class on Tuesday morning’s at 9AM at Gold’s Gym Camp Hill and a 6:45PM class Tuesday evenings at Gold’s Gym Linglestown. In this class, we focus on moving mindfully using our breath to transition between the poses. No headstands or intense inversions but a flow that will leave you feeling stretched out, balanced and ready to take on the rest of your day. Unroll your mat and flow with me on Tuesday’s!
When I decided to hang up my Banker heels after 32 years, I wasn’t quite sure what I would do next. I had nearly a year transition period before I left corporate America to consider my next steps. I had a regular yoga practice since 2008 but never considered teaching. In early 2016, I began to explore various yoga schools to obtain my 200 hour certification. I settled on the Om My Yoga school and started yoga teacher training in October 2016. I still didn’t intend to teach yoga, I just wanted to continue to deepen my own practice. As I progressed through my training, I had the opportunity to teach a few classes, teaching during yoga training is highly encouraged and then a few more. I also had the privilege of having a mentor, Kate Loyd, that allowed me to flow with her onstage during some of her classes to allow me to ‘get the feel’ of being in front of a group. It was during one of these classes that I realized, that I really enjoyed the teaching aspect of yoga. I completed my yoga teacher training in March 2017 and became a RYT 200 yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance the same month. Teaching has also allowed me to tap into my creative side when putting together a yoga class as well as the music for the class. I started teaching at Gold’s in March 2017.
My husband Joe and I live in Dauphin with our Labrador, Millie. When I’m not at Gold’s, you can find me working in my garden, walking, cooking or searching for cheap flights to Hawaii to go visit my daughter!l
