Here are a few morning routines to try out if you’re frustrated with your weight, not seeing the change you’ve been hoping for, or just need something different to get your momentum going. - Drink water: Have a bottle of water near your bed so you can start your hydration early. Try drinking approximately 8-10 ounces upon waking so you can help boost your metabolism, improve your focus and help your body perform at an optimal level throughout the day.
- Eat breakfast: It’s the most important meal of the day. Eating a complete breakfast, packed with protein, complex carbs and healthy fats, not only can help to increase your metabolism, but also helps you avoid midmorning temptations and keeps you energized for hours.
- Pick up the weights: You don’t need a big workout in the morning. Just a simple 10- to 15-minute strength-training workout is powerful enough to increase your metabolism and burn calories all day long. You also might find that after an early workout you’ll make better choices throughout the day to refuel your body so that you don’t let your hard work go to waste!
