Mike Trotter-Regional Personal Training Director
My name is Mike Trotter. It's my pleasure to serve as the Regional Fitness Director with The Gold's Gym Family. I am a graduate of Eureka College where I obtained a B.S in Exercise Science with a concentration in Fitness Leadership. My passion is helping people get better. Therefore, I'm going to find out what you want to accomplish with your workouts individually in order to get you with the trainer that is best fit to help you reach your specific goals and beyond. I'm here to motivate and support you. I understand that everyone starts at a different level and I want you to know that's okay because I'm going to show you how to get there one step at a time. We are going to help you create habits and THAT'S the key to YOUR success. I'm excited I cant wait!!!
James Ryan-Personal Trainer
After playing 4 years of football and baseball at Heyworth High School, I enlisted in the US Navy as a Damage Controlman (ship board firefighter). I was a Navy qualified fitness leader on board the USS Lake Erie out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. I led & coordinated physical fitness drills for the 500+ enlisted & officers on the ship. While in Hawaii, I played semi-professional football for the Westside Titans.
When my enlistment was up, I returned to the area where I continued pursuing education in the fitness industry. I took Anatomy & Medical Terminology at Heartland Community College. I began working at Gold's Gym in 2007. I completed the Gold's Gym trainer course & I completed a Crossfit Certification specializing in Kettlebells. I'm also known at the gym as the "kickboxing guy". I've studied & practiced MMA, Kickboxing, & Muay Thai.
I honestly feel that I could help anyone. I've helped clients prepare for bodybuilding shows, I've worked with high school & college athletes (football, soccer, etc.), I've worked with athletes preparing for triathlons, and I've aided in the recovery of rotator cuff, back, hip, & other surgeries.
I love what I do. I love helping people reach any goal set.
Cathy Vail-Personal Trainer
Welcome to Gold’s Gym Bloomington! I am Cathy Vail, an AFAA certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and professional drug-free bodybuilder. I have been involved in sports for over 35 years, with a focus on exercise, resistance training and nutrition for the past 25 years. Fitness is a very important part of my life – from everyday health to sports, from power-lifting to bodybuilding – it is a part of my life for which I always make time. I enjoy being granted the opportunity to help others find ways to lead healthier lifestyles. My clients are extremely varied individuals: power lifters, figure and bodybuilder competitors, mothers looking to get back to their “before” shapes, people looking to lose extra weight or add lean muscle mass, and seniors looking to improve life. So whatever your goal may be, I would love the opportunity to assist you. Please feel free to stop me in the gym and introduce yourself and ask questions. I am here to help!
