Gold’s Gym Bismarck welcomes new Yoga instructor Angie Kambietz.
Angie Kambietz comes to Gold’s with a great deal of experience and enthusiasm. We took a few moments to talk with Angie and get her approach to Yoga. Here’s what she had to say…
Gold’s Gym Bismarck: What are 3 reasons someone should try Yoga?
Angie: Yoga is great for building flexibility, boosting your energy and relieving stress. Yoga focuses the mind and body. Not very many workouts can produce the mental calming you get with Yoga, while also giving you physical benefits.
GGB: Tell us 5 things most people don’t know about Yoga but should.
Angie: People don’t realize that Yoga is a great strength-building workout. It gets you stronger as well as increases flexibility. In fact, Yoga teaches you mind-control. Yoga students learn how to use their minds to get more from their bodies or slow it down and relax when needed.
The mental side of Yoga makes it a great activity for both men and women. Many men carry the misconception that only women should practice Yoga. That’s simply not the case. Men stand to benefit from Yoga just as much as women.
Yoga also helps the spine and joints. It keeps the muscles that support bones and joints flexible and toned. Yoga workouts combine various muscle groups. It makes your muscles stronger without bulk—one reason women tell me they like Yoga.
Yoga is real-world Jedi Training. Yoga uses the power of our minds to help train our bodies. That’s the biggest benefit of Yoga—the mind and body control you learn.
GGB: So, what should I do to prepare for your next Yoga class, find a light sabre?
Angie: (laughs). No, you can leave your light sabre at home. Come dressed ready to workout and bring an open mind with a positive attitude.
You don’t need to know anything about Yoga. Our classes here at Gold’s Gym Bismarck accommodate the newbie as well as experienced Yoga student.
We have Yoga mats in the studio. Just show up ready to enjoy your class.
