After a short leave of absence, I am returning to work at Gold’s Gym and it feels like coming home! I am really glad to be here. My trip to Minneapolis left me rested in body and mind as it was cold but beautiful. One of the highlights of my trip was attending the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra concert and sharing lunch with the World Wide Orphanages choir. Both performances were very inspiring for the soul.
I also visited my 91-year old sister, who is partially blind and recently widowed. During the warm summer months, she enjoys walking outside about 3 miles each day. With a little help, she recently started using a stretch machine and doing regular treadmill workouts. This has been a tremendous benefit because now, when the cold wind blows snow and the temperature in Minneapolis plummets, she can still exercise indoors.
Now that I’m back in San Antonio, I’m ready to return to some serious working out with my friends at Gold’s Gym and my fellow Silver Sneakers members! My latest goal is to prepare for the 5K walk/run at the cornyval in Helotes, Texas. As my 91-year old sister can attest, finding time to walk even just once a day is great exercise. Whether you prefer to walk alone or with a group, it is an opportunity to get outside, stretch those muscles and maintain a level of activity.GO BACK
